Paolo Guerrero aims to win the Copa Sudamericana with César Vallejo

The Cesar Vallejo University (UCV) will face Sport Huancayo this Thursday, March 7, in the preliminary phase of the Copa Sudamericana 2024. The match will be played at the Mansiche stadium, in the city of Trujillo, at 7:30 pm

Both Peruvian teams are playing for a place in the group stage of the continental tournament. About, Paolo Guerrerobrand new attacker of the ‘poet’ team, was consulted about the importance of the Copa Sudamericana for the UCV, since it is an international competition of great prestige and value for the clubs that participate in it.

The ‘Predator’, who won the 2023 edition with the Ecuadorian Liga de Quito of the aforementioned tournament, he believed that the Trujillo team should aim to be champion of that long-awaited cup.

In statements to RPP, Guerrero, 40, said that the UCV must prepare to win the Copa Sudamericana, but that to do so it must go “game by game.”

“All the teams are preparing to win the Sudamericana and so are we, that has to be our goal. If I think about winning one game and losing another, I better not play football. “As a group we have to prepare to aim to win the Sudamericana but we have to go game by game,” indicated the experienced forward.

The Copa Sudamericana began for the Peruvian teams on Tuesday, March 5, with Deportivo Garcilaso’s victory on penalties against ADT in Cusco, after a goalless draw in regulation time.
