Teófilo ‘El Nene’ Cubillas turns 75 and the world of football salutes the Peruvian star

The idol of peruvian team and Alianza Lima, Teófilo ‘El Nene’ Cubillasturns 75 today, and the world of football pays tribute to a sports legend.

The Peruvian top scorer in World Cup history had a brilliant career where he played for European clubs such as Porto and Basel.

Cubilla has been distinguished with different awards such as top scorer in Peruvian football in 1966, Bronze Ball, Best Young Player and Bronze Boot at the 1970 Mexico World Cup, among countless other awards.

In 1975, the Peruvian team became champion of the Copa América with Teófilo Cubillas in the attack.

It is worth mentioning that he is the second top scorer in the history of Alianza Lima with 167 goals, only behind Waldir Sáenz with 175 scores.

The popular ‘Nene’ spends this important day with his family. As you remember, Cubillas has lived in Fort Lauderdale, United States, for several years.
