Peru will face two friendlies prior to the 2024 Copa América

Peru will face Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in Lima in friendly matches scheduled for March 22 and 26, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) reported this Monday.

“Our beautiful love is back, La Bicolor is back. Together with the best fans, we will face Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic,” indicated the FPF on the X social network.

Both matches will be played in a stadium in Lima to be defined on March 22 and 26 at 8:30 p.m. local (01:30 GMT).

These matches will represent the first two matches that the Uruguayan Jorge Fossati will coach as coach of Peru, in his preparation for his participation in the Copa América that will be played next June in the United States.

Fossati has the mission of taking Peru out of the basement of the South American qualifiers and qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The World Cup restarts in September 2024. That month Peru will host Colombia and visit Ecuador.

Peru is bottom of the South American qualifying round with two points in six rounds played.
