Independiente and River tied 1-1 in Saturday’s classic and remained at the top of Zone A of the Argentine soccer League Cup, which this weekend is playing its tenth round.

In an even duel, River took the lead when it had earned the least merits. Colombian Miguel Borja (22), who is going through a formidable moment, scored his tenth goal of the championship with a left-footed shot that rose after brushing against a defender and dislocated goalkeeper Rodrigo Rey.

Independiente reacted and reached the tie shortly after, in a collective action in which the Chilean Mauricio Isla overflowed from the right and sent the center for the Paraguayan Gabriel Ávalos (38), who scored his first goal for the ‘Rojo’.

The forward of the Guaraní team arrived in the last transfer market to Independiente, but his first cry with the red shirt was delayed for several dates.
