Peru will face Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in Lima in friendly matches scheduled for March 22 and 26. The national team will first be home at the Alejandro Villanueva stadium in La Victoria and then will host at the Monumental stadium.
These matches will represent the first two matches that Jorge Fossati directs as coach of Peru, as part of the Blanquirroja’s preparation for its participation in the Copa América, which will be played in June in the United States.
Fossati has the mission of removing Peru from the basement of the Qualifiers and qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. The competition restarts in September 2024. That month Peru will host Colombia and visit Ecuador. The Peruvian team is last in the Conmebol Qualifiers with two points in six games played, after a bad start under the orders of Juan Reynoso.
