What if the much-coveted successor to PSA (now Stellantis) in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis) was PSG? These two brands are separated by one letter and a world. The former was an auto industry flagship that still employed 3,000 workers at its plant in the north of the city before its closure was announced in 2012. In the same year, the second completely came under the Qatari flag. A little death on the one hand, a second birth on the other. Ironically, these two stories are likely to collide today.
On February 13, the mayor of Aulnay-sous-Bois, Bruno Beschizza (LR), announced that his city was “ready to welcome Paris-Saint-Germain.” A few days earlier, the president of the Ile-de-France regional council, Valerie Pecresse (LP), called on the elected officials of the Ile-de-France region to identify reserves of land on which the capital club could build its future stadium. Contrary to Anne Hidalgo (PS), PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi intends to “move from the Parc des Princes” due to the refusal of the mayor of Paris to give him the sports facility.
