The new ‘skin’ of Luis Advíncula: Boca presented a new shirt inspired by the Swedish flag

Boca Juniors unveiled its most recent shirt in honor of the anniversary of its foundation, standing out for its design inspired by the colors of the Swedish flag. This new kit, part of the team’s third kit, fuses the distinctive blue and gold traditional of the Buenos Aires squad with prominent shades of blue, evoking the emblematic colors of the Scandinavian country.

The decision to adopt these colors dates back to 1907, when the club’s founders, Esteban Baglietto, Santiago Pedro Sana, Alfredo Scarpati, and brothers Juan and Teodoro Farenga, chose to leave the choice of the club’s colors to chance. During that day, when heading towards the port of Buenos Aires, the first ship they saw was carrying the Swedish flag, thus determining the team’s color selection.

The design of the new shirt highlights a predominant blue tone, accentuated by golden lines that run across the chest, emulating the distinctive colors of the Swedish flag. In addition, the Betsson logo, the sponsoring brand, complements this design.

The first appearance of this new kit will be on April 6, when Boca Juniors faces Newell’s Old Boys in the penultimate round of the League Cup, prior to the final phase of the tournament.

The launch of the clothing was also held in Sweden, the country of origin of Betsson, the world’s leading gambling operator and official main sponsor of the club since June 2023.

“We are very proud of our Swedish heritage, and our association with Boca Juniors through the colors blue and yellow, which we share, and the love we both feel for football, an initiative that strengthens our bond. As committed sponsors, we are excited to ignite passion among fans and players with our new jersey, which reminds us of our shared history and values,” said Jesper Svensson, CEO of Betsson Group.

“We hope that this new shirt motivates fans to beat with every minute of the game, because remembering our origins not only makes us feel at home, but also intensifies the passion with which we vibrate through the magic of football and experiences. that only live in Boca,” added Maximiliano Bellio, Managing Director for Argentina at Betsson.
