The peruvian teamdirected by Jorge Fossati, will be measured in June against Paraguayprior to traveling to the United States to play the Copa América 2024.
This was confirmed by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF). The match will be played next Friday, June 7, with the stage and time to be confirmed.
“There is a very good relationship with the Member Associations of Conmebol and having reached an agreement with Paraguay is very important, because as Professor Fossati said, after playing with CONCACAF countries it was time to face South American rivals,” said Agustín. Lozano, head of the FPF.
“In a few more days we will be defining the scenario of the friendly and accordingly the schedule of the match,” he added.
The Uruguayan strategist, champion with Universitario in 2023, had his first two friendlies in charge of the red and white last March with victories.
The Peruvian team beat Nicaragua 2-0 in Matute with scores from Joao Grimaldo and Gianluca Lapadula.
Days later, now at the Monumental stadium, they beat the Dominican Republic 4-1, with goals from Sergio Peña, Jesús Castillo, Piero Quispe and Paolo Guerrero.
