Gonzalo Aguirre leaves Sporting Cristal: “I expected things to turn out differently”

Peruvian midfielder Gonzalo Aguirre arrived in the middle of last season to Sporting Cristal and this Tuesday, April 9, he announced his separation from the celestial team.

It is worth mentioning that although in 2023 he had few minutes with coach Tiago Nunes, this year, under the command of Enderson Moreira, he did not have a single minute in an official match.

“I inform you of my separation from the Sporting Cristal Club. I want to thank my teammates, props, physios, and fans for the good treatment and support they gave me from day one,” Aguirre wrote on his Instagram account.

It was not clear what happened for a young talent to not be taken into account and in his brief statement he was saddened by how things turned out.

“I expected things to turn out differently. For my part, I will continue working with the same effort and focus for my professional career and objectives,” she said.
