Rodrigo De Paul dedicated his goal in gratitude to the club where his football history began | VIDEO

An emotional moment was lived in the Monumental stadium. The Argentine team achieved a resounding result against Uruguay (3-0) for the South American Qualifiers towards Qatar 2022 and one of the protagonists of the duel was Rodrigo De Paul who scored the second score.

The Atlético de Madrid midfielder decided to invite 50 members of the Deportivo Belgrano club, from coaches to leaders and children who are part of the institution, to the stadium to watch the important match.

De Paul’s second goal came after a series of rebounds and a previous attempt by Lautaro Martinez. After scoring the goal, the midfielder went to the Centenario rostrum to celebrate with a sector of the fans, which were all the members of the delegation of the team where he started.

At 25 minutes into the second half, he left the playing field for Ángel Di María to enter and, at that moment, he received the ovation of the more than 36 thousand attendees who were grateful as well as the guests of the club located in Sarandí.

It should be noted that Rodrigo de Paúl began his history with football at Deportivo Belgrano; and, although he later left for Racing Club, he does not forget his origins. The steering wheel has become an important piece for Lionel Scaloni and he lives his best moments with the ‘Albiceleste’, as well as with Atlético de Madrid.

Thanks to De Paul

Deportivo Belgrano dedicated a story to him on his Instagram account and thanked him for the invitation: “Thank you very much Roo! For this gift for our boys! Happy to know the Monumental, to encourage the team and its idol, Rodrigo De Paul! ”. They also had a publication thanking him for the gesture he made: “A pride for us, an example for our boys”.
