After a discreet first half, Peru reappeared in the second half, launching the attack and it was on the right side where Ruiz gained speed and projected a cross for Gherson to score with a header.

Ruiz then sealed the victory with a low shot past the Uruguayan goalkeeper. Within the discreet level that the teams showed in the first half, Uruguay was the one that enjoyed two opportunities to convert, but Antonella Mazziotto missed with a shot over the goal and Anna Cola couldn’t when she was unmarked in front of the goal.

Towards the end of the match, Cola vindicated herself and with a violent shot defeated goalkeeper Lucía Arcos, after an error by the Peruvian defenses. Paraguay is already classified alongside Peru, with 9 points; while Argentina, which has 4 units, will collide this Wednesday with Ecuador and will close next Friday against the Paraguayans and looks like a favorite to reach the final hexagonal.

Ecuador, with fewer options, has two consecutive defeats and to qualify it is forced to beat Argentina and beat Uruguay next Friday; in addition to hoping that Paraguay defeats the albicelestes.
