France, as the host country, had the opportunity to reserve a place in the athletes’ village in Seine-Saint-Denis first, from April 2021. “We were practically making plans at that time,” recalls André-Pierre Goubert, a senior executive at the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) level. To find the ideal location, the distance from catering outlets or transport was studied. The choice fell on the Etoile sector, south of the village.
The three buildings overlook the Finot shopping center, one of the arteries leading to the Seine, and are located six minutes from the Maison de la Performance, which is entirely dedicated to France. The Blues will use two of them (9 and 10 floors respectively) and will occupy four floors of the third building, which they will thus share with the other European delegation.
