On July 14, the evening of the national holiday, Paris City Hall will be open all night, Anne Hidalgo announced on Tuesday. The goal is to allow the public to come and see the Olympic flame less than two weeks before the 2024 Games in Paris (July 26 to August 11).
“The town hall will be open all night so that Parisians and visitors can admire it,” the mayor of Paris promised during a press conference on celebrations organized for this summer’s Olympic Games. The flames will “sleep in the halls” of the building and will not go out at night.
Flames will circulate throughout Paris
During the day of July 14, the Olympic flame will circulate throughout the central areas of Paris. The next day he will be sent to remote areas. Olympic Games deputy Pierre Rabadan assures that he will pass “80 objects in two days.” The pool, in which the flames will burn throughout the Games, will be installed in the Tuileries Gardens.
The traditional fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower will take place on the evening of July 14th. The monument should also be decorated with five Olympic rings suspended on the north side facing the river. On the other hand, Anne Hidalgo announced that the concert on the Champ de Mars will be held in a different location this year.
