Christian Cueva and his desire to return: “I will always fight for a place in my team”

Christian Cueva has been a key piece of recent times in the peruvian team who played in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and lost the playoffs for Qatar 2022.

Now, away from the playing fields due to a knee injury that left him out of the season in 2023, when he was wearing the Alianza Lima shirt, he is focused on his recovery.

It was striking to see him at Videna last Wednesday, where he was seen sharing a pleasant chat with the current national coach Jorge Fossati.

“I’m here to finish the recovery process, I’m focused on that, and I hope to be on the courts soon. I have complete confidence, regardless of the fact that I am not there at the moment, I will always fight for a place in my National Team,” he declared to the white and red’s YouTube channel.

On the other hand, he stressed that we must continue fighting in the Qualifiers and Copa América, because this group has already demonstrated strength and competitiveness at the international level.

“In the last two Qualifiers we have been in difficulties like this and this group has pulled through, and I have no doubt that this is how it will be. In the two friendly matches we have seen this support for the ‘professor’ and it was noted that together we can achieve the desires we want, and one of them is to go to the World Cup,” Cueva pointed out.
