2024 Olympic Games in Paris: Florent Manadou will become the first bearer of the Olympic flame on French soil

Her sister Laura Manadou was the first French torchbearer at the lighting of the Olympia flame on 16 April. Three weeks later, younger brother Florent will symbolically become the first person to carry the Olympic flame on French soil. On May 8 at 19:00, Florent Manadou will step down from the famous torch on board the Belen, an ancient sailing ship that must cross the Mediterranean Sea to reach France from Greece.

The flames previously traveled 5,000 km across Greece and were officially handed over to France this Friday to begin their 12-day journey.

Entering the city of Marseille, Florent Manaudou will begin the long journey of the Olympic flame through French territory. From May 8 to July 26, the fire will be carried by 10 thousand torchbearers across 64 territories (including 5 overseas) and will pass through more than 400 cities. The route will therefore begin in Marseille, where the program includes visits to the Roucas Blanc marina, the Olympic sailing site, the Marseille velodrome, the northern districts of the city and Notre-Dame de la Garde.

Travel of the Olympic flame from May 8 to July 26.

After completing this long journey of two and a half months, the Olympic flame will arrive in Ile-de-France on July 14, a national holiday, and will be visible in other departments of Ile-de-France for ten days. On July 26, the pool located in the Tuileries Gardens will be lit to announce the start of the Olympic Games, which will end on August 11.
