The second day of play at the Diners Club Perú Open was completed with Samuel Anderson as the only leader in both rounds. With a score of -13, the American became first in the table, followed by Rodolfo Cazaubón (-10).
San Anderson made 7 birdies and an eagle for a round of 64 (-8) that took him to first place with a three-stroke lead.
“I put the ball in the fairway and that’s key here,” said Anderson, a 25-year-old University of Wisconsin graduate. “The Bermuda rough here is complicated, so you have to hit from tee to fairway and then be precise with the irons. Additionally, these greens are firm and fast, so you have to put the ball below the hole to be aggressive with your putts.”
Cazaubón, winner of the Diners Club Perú Open in 2015, is the best Latin American in the event held at Los Inkas Golf Club. He is followed by the Chilean Agustín Errázuriz and the Argentine Julián Etulain, both tied in 9th place.

A total of 65 golfers made the cut, unfortunately without any Peruvians among those classified. Luis Fernando Barco was just one shot away from entering the weekend rounds.
Meanwhile, Jaime Yzaga (amateur) completed the 36 holes of play in 144 strokes (par), as did the national Julián Périco (par). Both placed in box 73. They were followed by Joaquín Lolas and Mauricio Tello (amateur), with a score of +2.
