Soccer generates passion in every corner of the country and in Monsefú a tournament is held that pits the families of the district against each other. A total of 29 teams representing each surname from the town compete in the María Mechán Gonzales Master Tournament that is played at the Quinta Club Monsefú – Carmencita.

This Sunday the championship begins with the 29 teams named after the surnames of local families. The Carlina Family stands out, which has achieved the two-time championship.

The Carlina Family is in charge of organizing the tournament this year, which is why they named it after María Mechán Gonzales, who belongs to the 81st class of the family. Her daughter was in charge of giving the honorary play at the inauguration

At the Quinta Club Monsefú – Carmencita there was quite a party at the ceremony, with the parade of each of the teams with their respective queens. In addition, there were presentations of typical dances and friendly matches as a preview of the championship.

This Sunday, April 28, the contest begins. Two groups have been established, one with 15 teams and the other with 14. A total of 14 games will be played per date, a complete football festival at the Quinta Club Monsefú – Carmencita, which is located in the new elevated tank in Las Palmeras.
