Venezuela denounced that the Chilean authorities do not allow them to leave the concentration hotel

The Venezuelan team is in Chile preparing for what will be the duel for the South American Qualifiers heading to Qatar 2022 with ‘La Roja’; however, they denounced an event that complicates their preparation. The Chilean authorities did not let them go to the training site.

In a statement published by the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), the entity “It informs the public that, being after 4:00 p.m. (Chilean time) and having complied with the COVID protocols, the Chilean authorities do not allow the departure of the red-wine delegation to the scheduled training at 5:00 p.m. ( Chile time) at the headquarters of the Colo-Colo Sports and Social Club ”.

It should be noted that upon arrival at the “Arturo Merino Benítez” International Airport, the Venezuelan team presented all its negative results and that they re-performed the tests at the concentration hotel, which also showed that they had no signs of coronavirus (COVID-19 ).

At this moment they are waiting for a resolution that will allow them to start their training sessions to prepare optimally to face the team led by Martín Lasarte and, despite everything, they appreciate the “Pertinent collaboration of the Chilean authorities”.

Venezuela will face Chile on Thursday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. (Peruvian time) at the San Carlos Apoquindo stadium. On the last date of the Qualifiers, both teams achieved positive results. The Chilean team defeated Paraguay 2-0 with goals from Ben Brereton and Mauricio Isla; while the ‘vinotinto’ beat Ecuador 2-1 with scores from Darwin Machís and Eduard Bello.
