Water polo “Blues” are coming to the Olympic Center: “This will be an opportunity to get our bearings”

Life size rehearsal. In February, French polo players overcame all odds to reach the semi-finals of the World Championships for the first time in their history. On Tuesday and Wednesday they will discover the new Olympic Aquatic Center, located a few hundred meters from the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during the final stage of the French Championships. In fact, almost all of France’s players are among the top four regular-season teams – Marseille, Strasbourg, Cercle 93 Noisy-le-Sec and Pays d’Aix – that will compete for the title.

With less than three months before the big meet this summer (July 26 – August 11), the Tricolors have the perfect opportunity to get used to real-life conditions. During the Games, the Olympic Aquatics Centre, which will also host artistic swimming and diving competitions, will host France’s first four group matches. The final meeting, and then all the final stages, will take place at the Parisian La Défense arena in Nanterre, west of Paris. For the organizers of this test eventit also includes final adjustments to the fencing, the only permanent site built for the Paris Olympics, which will cost nearly €175 million.
