The former coach of the red and white team and current technical director of Chile, Ricardo Garecawill have his debut in an official match precisely against Peru for the America Cup of the United States.
In this regard, the 66-year-old Argentine marked distance from his good feelings for our country with his present at the helm of ‘La Roja’.
“I have great affection for Peru, as well as for Argentina because I am Argentine, but my heart is here (Chile) right now, which is the most important thing,” said Gareca.
“My heart and my head are in Chile,” he added.
Peru is in Group A of the Copa América along with the teams of Argentina, Chile and Canada.
The group stage begins on June 20, while the final will be on July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium, with capacity for about 65,000 spectators.
