The National Commission of Referees (Conar) issued a statement in which they reject the statements made by Sergio Ludeña, president of Scientistregarding the refereeing performance of Kevin Ortega in the meeting between the Cusco institution and the University for the Apertura Tournament.
“The National Commission of Arbitrators expresses its rejection of the words expressed by Mr. Sergio Ludeña, who gave public statements using defamatory terms such as ‘theft’ and offensive qualifiers to the arbitration performance,” Conar indicates in the document.
“These types of statements attack the honorability of the referees. Therefore, we request public rectification of said accusation,” he also points out.
As recalled, the Cienciano leader was very harsh in his criticism against Ortega in which he stated that the penalty was not sanctioned in favor of the people from Cusco because it was a University student.
“A mistake, from our point of view, by Kevin (Ortega). Last minute and the VAR reviewed seconds, for us it was a penalty and Cienciano should have won this match,” he declared to the media.
“I’m sure that if it was another team, they would take the penalty. “They are dying of fear of charging the ‘U’ a penalty,” he added.
