Mateo Rodríguez: “I don’t have a contract with Cristal, but they have approached me. For me, I’m staying for life.”

Sporting Cristal will play the semifinals of the Under 18 Half World Cup in Ecuador, thanks, in large part, to the goals of its attacker Mateo Rodríguezson of former national team player Alberto ‘Mudo’ Rodríguez.

The 17-year-old forward stands out for his great definition in a tournament that has put him in the showcase of clubs from abroad that analyze these training championships.

Speaking to L1 Radio, Mateo shared his desire for the future at the Bajopontine institution.

“I don’t have a contract with Sporting Cristal, but they have approached me. If it were up to me, I would stay for life,” said the young national forward.

On the other hand, he said that he has had the opportunity to train with the first celestial team and that his coach in this tournament, Renzo Revoredo, “is a great teacher and person.”

Sporting Cristal will seek its place in the final of this tournament against Fluminense of Brazil this Thursday, June 13.

It should be noted that the light blue team already beat the same rival 3-2 in the previous round.
