Gianluca Lapadula missed a penalty in the Peru vs. friendly. El Salvador | VIDEO

Gianluca Lapadula had the opportunity to score the second goal of Peru against El Salvador, but failed to execute a penalty awarded at the start of the second half.

The Peruvian Italian shot with power to the middle of the goal defended by Salvadoran goalkeeper Mario González, and the latter managed to save the shot.

It is an important match for coach Jorge Fossati to be able to field a midfield without Renato Tapia, who decided not to travel with the national delegation.

The red and white team comes into this friendly after a goalless draw against Paraguay in Lima.

Peru debuts in the Copa América this Friday, June 21, against Chile, at the start of Group A, which also includes Argentina and Canada.
