Apart from these 226 athletes, 16 teams earned their prized berth to the Olympic Games mainly due to their status as the host nation as well as their performances. This is especially true for the French 3×3 basketball teams, which shone on the courts. Women’s and men’s teams in basketball, football, handball, field hockey, rugby sevens, volleyball and water polo will also be represented. The lists of players are expected and they will join the general squad of the French national team.
