After several months off the playing fields, the national footballer Christian Cueva He had minutes with the Peruvian team in the America Cup from the United States.
The 32-year-old attacker entered in the complement stage, in Peru’s 1-0 defeat against Canada, and despite the result he valued his return.
“It is hard after so much time to return to the field to play in such a high-level competition. I leave happy for the support I had from my teammates and coaching staff. I prepared to play this tournament,” he said in statements to the press.
On the other hand, he regretted the result of the red and white team, which leaves their chances of advancing to the next round of the tournament very complicated.
“Definitely yes, defeat hurts a lot. 11 against 11 is different. The team did a great job. Sad about that, but this ends on the last group date,” Cueva reflected.
“Now we are going to go and recover and correct what we can for the next match,” he added.
Peru will play on the last day of Group A against Argentina next Saturday, June 29.
