Scaloni on the game against Peru: “The guys we haven’t been able to see will play. They deserve it and it’s fair.”

Messi’s Argentina qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa América-2024 on Tuesday by defeating Chile 1-0 with great effort in Group A, in which Canada achieved a vital victory against Peru by the same score in the overwhelming Kansas City heat.

For this reason, Lionel Scaloni has decided to rotate the starting team in the last match of the group stage against Peru. The ‘Bicolor’ must seek victory to aspire to qualify for the next phase.

“The next game will be played by the boys we haven’t been able to see. They deserve it and it is fair,” he said at a press conference.

As expected, MetLife Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Giants and Jets, was dyed blue and white, as happened on Monday in the emblematic Times Square in New York with the now customary albiceleste flag.

Only a few small red bumps stood out in the stands, but enough to boost those led by Ricardo Gareca, well planted in the first half to close Argentina’s passing lanes and isolating Messi from the offensive circuit.
