Miguel Araujo He was expelled in the defeat of Peru against Canada last Tuesday for the second day of Group A of the Copa América.

Hours after the aforementioned match ended, the VAR audios that Guatemalan judge Mario Escobar assisted in the play that left the red and white team with 10 men were released.

“On the 15th, he touches the ball, but for me there is an additional movement,” was the first comment on the action by referee Juan Soto from the video referee room.

“I think he can avoid contact, but he keeps (the leg), the intensity is high,” added Bolivian judge Gery Vargas, in charge of the AVAR.

Peru fell 1-0 to Canada and complicated their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Argentina leads the series with six points, followed by Canada with three, Chile and Peru with one point.
