“Messi is not going to be in tomorrow’s game”: Walter Samuel confirms Lionel’s absence in Peru vs Argentina

Argentina, already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Copa América, will field an alternate team against Peru, according to Lionel Scaloni, the ‘Albiceleste’ coach confirmed this after beating Chile by the minimum difference in the second matchday. However, everyone was waiting to see Lionel Messi, at least for a few minutes, but that will not happen.

This Friday, June 28, Walter Samuel, Scaloni’s assistant and the one who will be the head of the technical team in the match against Peru, gave a press conference, where he confirmed that the ’10’ of the Argentine national team will not be part of the delegation that will face Jorge Fossati’s team for the Copa América.

“Messi will not be in tomorrow’s match against Peru. We will see how he develops day by day. Scaloni will decide which team to play in the afternoon.”expressed the member of Lionel Scaloni’s coaching staff.
