League 1 teams join the campaign to fight breast cancer

On the occasion of the International Day to Fight Breast Cancer that is commemorated every October 19, the League 1 teams will join the campaign to combat this evil that affects many women in Peru and around the world. .

The campaign started with Sport Boys and a video where they wore the pink ribbons. Sporting Cristal, Universitario, San Martín, Cantolao UCV and Municipal used the ties on the recent date of League 1. Alianza Lima and Cienciano will do so in their corresponding matches this weekend.

In the social networks of the University the message was left: “For all the fighters who face breast cancer, we join Sport Boys and other clubs in League 1 to pay tribute to them and promote the prevention of this disease.”.

The World Health Organization (WHO), indicates that in 2020 in Latin America, the types of cancer with the greatest increase were: breast (25.4%), lung (8.5%), colorectal (7.9%). ), thyroid (5%) and cervical (3.8%).

In some countries, breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women 25 years of age and older. Although this evil is associated with women, men can also suffer from it.

Despite the fact that World Cancer Day for Mom is officially commemorated on October 19, it was decided that the entire month of October would be to raise awareness of the impact it can have. It is symbolized by the color pink.
