The Mexican athlete who was forced to sell the car of her dreams to attend the Karate World Cup

Obtaining resources to attend international events is a recurring theme among the athletes And this is the case of the Mexican karateka Xhunashi Caballero, who decided to put the car of her dreams up for sale in order to pay for the expenses of her next participations: one of them in the Karate World Cup in Dubai that will be held in November.

The winner of the bronze medal in the last Pan American Games Lima 2019 shared last September through her social networks that was selected to represent Mexico at the Pan American Championship in Punta del Este and the 2021 Karate World Championship in Dubai, to be held from October 18 to 25 and November 16 to 25, respectively.

However, in order to attend both events, the Oaxacan karateka needs financial resources, which is why she announced that she was in search of sponsors who wanted to support her and asked her friends or followers for help in case they knew someone to contact.

In addition to trying to get sponsors to help her with her events, Caballero also decided to sell some of his belongings, among which has highlighted his Volkswagen vehicle, better known as vocho in Mexico and that Xhunashi described as his “baby.”

“All my life, since high school, I had wanted to have a little voch. He always said: ‘I want to have a little voice’. In my eagerness to go to my events I put it up for sale so that I could correct those flights and those expenses. I never thought that many people would see this ”, he told CNN.

In her social networks, the Mexican athlete published several images of her red car from 1992, the same one that is offering for 70 thousand pesos (about $ 3,400 to change). Even the karateka offered the possibility that those interested can go to their home to see the state of the vehicle.

Caballero managed to sell his car and confirmed through his social networks that he has been able to attend the Pan American Championship in Uruguay. “My happiness is immense. The weighing is done and now it’s time to enjoy every second of competition to the fullest, giving my best. Because I decided to be happy, and here I am. I love you, I adore you and I will not tire of thanking you for so much love “, wrote.
