The situation was complicated for Colo Colo. The ‘Cacique’ will have to play against Audax Italiano for matchday 29 of the Chilean National Championship, despite the wave of COVID-19 infections that the institution has experienced; and, to go out in front of the ‘Italics’ they will have to play with juveniles.

There will be a total of seven underage players who will have to go out to face professional players. In addition to all the players and members of Colo Colo who tested positive for coronavirus, Seremi quarantined some youths.

All the residents of Casa Alba will be isolated due to the close contact they had with one of the infected. With this, a total of 62 people related to the ‘Cacique’ in quarantine are completed.

Colo Colo confirmed that even with the complications they will appear to play, but will hold the ANFP responsible for any physical damage that the 16-year-old footballers who will take to the field may present.

The president of Colo Colo, Edmundo Valladares, asked the ANFP to suspend the match against Audax Italiano, but the institution rejected this request. The Chilean association issued a statement explaining the reason why they rejected Colo Colo’s request and the ‘Cacique’ must play the match against Audax Italiano. “In coherence with the bases of the 2021 Planvital National Championship that were approved in the Council of Presidents held on March 2 of this year”, they announced in the published text.

It should be noted that Colo Colo is the absolute leader of the Chilean National Championship with 55 points, ten more than its rival on duty, Audax Italiano. However, the Catholic University is only five units away.
