Peru and Qatar sign visa waiver agreement for short stays

Peru and Qatar signed an agreement that allows citizens of both countries who have valid ordinary passports to enter, stay, leave and transit through the territory of the other party without visas, for tourism purposes, for a period of no more than ninety days.

The document “Visa Exemption Agreement for Short-Term Stays” was signed on October 31 in the city of Doha and takes place in the context of the celebration of the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Along these lines, this instrument allows the Peruvian traveler to enter an additional destination in the Middle East region, in view of the sports competition.

The signing of the aforementioned agreement was in charge, on the Peruvian side, of Ambassador José Benzaquen, Ambassador of Peru in the State of Qatar, and, on the Qatari side, Major General Mohamed Al Ateeq, representative of the Qatari Ministry of the Interior.

The agreement seeks to position the national passport with increasing accesses in the world and will enter into force when the internal procedures of both parties are completed.
