Soccer generates passion in different countries of the world, but it is in Argentina that the fervor borders and even exceeds the limits. One more proof of that statement was seen this Monday, with the spectacular reception that San Martín Tucumán had from its fans, prior to the duel against Tigre.

Thousands of ‘Ciruja’ fans came to the La Ciudadela field to cheer on their team. The stands were packed and all of them exploded when the team from Tucumán went out onto the grass. There was no lack of fireworks, rolls of paper and chants at the top of their lungs to show love for the club.

“It is the moment in which a rapporteur must shut up”, Declared Julián Bricco, one of those in charge of the transmission of TyC Sports, when the players paraded towards the center of the field. The detonations, meanwhile, continued and the party atmosphere was tremendous.

Despite the support, San Martín Tucumán could not beat Tigre, on matchday 34 of Group A of the First National (Second Division), and lost 2-0. Thus, the holy cast wasted the chance to finish the series as the leader, something that would have allowed them to play the final by direct promotion to the top category against Barracas Central.

Of course, San Martín Tucumán will have a new opportunity to get the long-awaited promotion. The cast led by Pablo de Muner will fight for the second pass to the Professional Football League in El Reducido, which will also feature Quilmes and Almirante Brown, representing zone A, and Ferro, Independiente Rivadavia and Deportivo Morón, from B.
