Renato Tapia talks about the Peruvian team at Celta de Vigo: “The illusion never left”

Renato Tapia left Lima with the tranquility of having fulfilled his duties with the Peruvian team on the last date of the year in the Qualifiers. A few days after winning the games against Bolivia and Venezuela, which placed Blanquirroja in the playoff zone, the midfielder returned to Celta de Vigo, although he looks askance at what may happen in the future with the national team.

“The illusion never went away. I think we are a group that has grown as the dates have progressed. There are four very intense games to go, but you can also get good results. So we are with the illusion intact, to try to win all possible points away from home and at home to get all the necessary points to be able to qualify”, he expressed this Wednesday.

Later, Tapia recalled that the commitments with the Peruvian team and Celta de Vigo prevented him from resting properly. What’s more, the midfielder had some physical problems that kept him away from the fields, but he acknowledged that having had a few days off -after returning from Lima- has been favorable to continue with the season in LaLiga.

“These are problems that happen along the way, the season was very long. I had less than a week in quotes to recover. I am not the only player who has been injured with his national team. These triple dates took their toll on all of us”, expressed the ‘Cabezón’ in the press conference organized by the Galician club.

“One I want to play everything, but the rest needed it. I used it in those recovery weeks to think about something other than football. That little break I had was good for me. Physically I have recovered a lot what last season can deliver. In this sense I am very calm and I hope that things are like this “added.

In this sense and thinking about Saturday’s game against Alavés, the Peruvian, who indicated that he did not feel with the assured position in the eleven of coach Eduardo Coudet, calmed the blue fans by stating that “I can assure that I am one hundred percent. Renewal and nationalization

There are two important issues that were raised during Tapia’s contact with the local press: nationalization and contract renewal. Regarding the first, the player stated that “I do not know how it is because I do not take it directly, but there are alternatives”.

And on the second, Tapia stressed that he signed until 2024 and admitted that “for me it is an illusion to continue, regardless of whether my contract is renewed or not. It has been just over a year, intense, but very happy. I have found my place in football where I feel best”.
