UEFA repechage: Zlatan or Lewandowski, only one could reach Qatar to score his first World Cup goal

The UEFA play-offs draw has left blows in advance for the various teams vying for one of the three World Cup spots, which will be put into play among twelve teams. Portugal and Italy, only one of them (or none) could have a World Cup option, while another of the possible duels will be between two great scorers: Robert Lewandowski and Zlatan Ibrahimovic they could face for a quota to Qatar 2022.

Both Poland and Sweden were in Group B of the playoffs, for which only one of them will access the World Cup event. Poland had to face Russia in the semifinals – who lost the direct pass on the last date to Croatia – while Sweden must face the Czech Republic, which reached the playoffs as a group winner of the Nations League.

B GROUP

• Semi 1: Russia vs. Poland (winner will be local in final)
• Semi 2: Sweden vs. Czech Republic

Sweden has just reached the quarterfinals of Russia 2018 – eliminated by England – but did not have Zlatan Ibrahimovic in that appointment.

Poland for its part fell in the group stage of the last World Cup – it has not exceeded a stage since Mexico 86 with a presence in Korea, Germany and Russia. Lewandowski will be looking to get into his second World Cup. In the last tournament he played all three group stage matches, but failed to convert.

Both scorers will seek to appear with their quota in the UEFA Repechage to take their country to Qatar 2022. In the case of Zlatan, 40, it would be his farewell to this tournament. Lewandowski, with 33, will still be able to reach a next World Cup.
