With a FC Barcelona player: Ecuador gave its list for a friendly against El Salvador

Thinking about the next double round of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers, in which they will face Brazil and Peru, the Ecuadorian team agreed to a friendly with El Salvador. And a few days after that match, the ‘Tri’ announced its list of summoned, with the novelty of Diego Almeida, 17, who plays for FC Barcelona.

Almeida, the son of Ecuadorians but born in Spain, was recently promoted to Barcelona’s first squad at the request of coach Xavi Hernández.

In addition to Almeida, Alfaro has called up the scorer of the Trien in the South American qualifying rounds of the World Cup in Qatar with five, Michael Estrada; as well as Diego Palacios, Gustavo Vallecilla and Sebastián Méndez, who are active in American clubs.

Alfaro intends to take advantage of the friendly match to test young figures, such as Bayer Levekusen defender Piero Hincapié (19 years old), English Brighton striker Jeremy Sarmiento (19), and Spanish Real Valladolid’s Gonzalo Plata (21).

Goalkeepers: José Gabriel Cevallos (Olmedo), Jorge Pinos (October 9) and Hernán Galíndez (Catholic University).

Defenders: Diego Almeida (Barcelona-ESP), Luis F León, Byron Castillo, Joshué Quiñónez and Leonel Quiñónez (Barcelona), Andrés López (Catholic University), Diego Palacios (Los Angeles-USA), Gustavo Vallecilla (Cincinnati-USA).

Midfielders: Jordi Alcívar (Quito League), Danny Cabezas (October 9), José Carabalí (Catholic University), Michael Carcelén (Barcelona), Sebastián Méndez (Orlando City-USA) and Freddy Mina (Macará).

Forwards: Jhojan Julio and Djorkaeff Reasco (Liga de Quito), Walter Chalá (Universidad Católica) and Michael Estrada (Toluca-MEX)
