Lima Alliance beat Sporting Crystal in the national final and champion of the League 1 2021. Carlos Bustos’ team managed to crown the consistency it had in the second part of the year. One of the most excited was Jefferson Farfán, who communicated his feelings through an emotional post on his social networks. As is known, the striker promised to get one more title with the club of his loves and he delivered.

“When I left Russia, there was a lot of speculation about what my next destination would be, they talked about clubs, countries and places where I could play. But in my head I only had one place in mind, and that was my Lima Alliance. I was champion more than 17 years ago and my dream was to return, but to return in a big way and help this great institution to the place where it deserves”Farfán affirmed on his Instagram.

Then he continued: “I am not satisfied with less and I knew that with this great human group, with this band, we could achieve everything. I have been champion in several places but nothing compares to achieving it with the club of your loves and in front of your people, your family and that extraordinary fan that always pushes and supports. Thank you for always believing that it was possible, for supporting us through thick and thin. This team is a family, and they are all champions because each person in the institution contributes that grain of sand that adds up and turned that dream into reality ”.

Alianza Lima was crowned the 2021 Peruvian soccer champion this Sunday by drawing 0-0 with Sporting Cristal in the second leg of the final.

In the first leg, also played at the National Stadium in Lima a week ago, Alianza had won 1-0.

The tie was enough for the team led by Argentine Carlos Bustos this Sunday to add its 24th national title in 120 years of life. His last crown dated from 2017 then led by the Uruguayan Pablo Bengoechea.

Cristal for its part has added 20 titles since its foundation 65 years ago.

Alianza Lima lived a bizarre year: it descended to the second division in 2020 but appealed to the Arbitral Court of Sport (TAS) which ruled in its favor in March 2021 and returned it to the higher category when the first three dates of the tournament had already been played. .

Bustos, 55, took over at the helm of Alianza in January and formed a team of experienced players, such as compatriot Hernán Barcos and Peruvian international Jefferson Farfán, 37.

The return final was played with a capacity of 13,000 fans due to the coronavirus pandemic.
