Raúl Jiménez went from hero to villain in a matter of seconds. The Mexican was emerging as one of the great figures of the match between Manchester City and Wolverhampton, for matchday 16 of the Premier League. However, a couple of specific actions marked the fate of the scorer and, incidentally, of the entire team visiting the Etihad stadium.

The ‘Wolves’ plan worked throughout the first stage: cut the game, put a strong leg when necessary and deconcentrate the opponent. Thus, the cast trained by Bruno Lage towards the business of the date against the leader of the competition. But a hazing by the Aztec ruined everything rehearsed by the ‘Wolves’.

Just short of closing the first half, Raúl Jiménez tried to recover the ball inside the center circle, but on the local court. The ‘9’, with little job in defensive tasks, committed an infraction against Rodri and, after the protest, the judge of the contest showed him the first yellow card.

Then, after that punishment, the former America was still hot and could not control himself to avoid a new mistake. As Rodri got ready to take the Manchester City free kick, the former Benfica striker squared off the midfielder and prevented the resumption of the match.

What’s more, the cast player ‘sky blue’ passed the ball forward, but Raúl Jiménez stretched out his leg and blocked the advance. Then, for that action, the referee intervened again and only a few seconds after the first penalty. In this way, the Mexican saw another yellow and, consequently, the red one.

Inexplicable performance of the Aztec, but anyway he approached the referee to ask for arguments. The international was supported by his teammates from ‘Wolves’ and a few seconds later they invited him to leave the field. Along the way, the ‘Lobos’ fans who attended Manchester cheered their scorer and DT gave him a hug to say goodbye.
