Racing Club fans are experiencing a special season finale in the Argentine Professional League, as a club legend said goodbye. During the afternoon of this Saturday, Lisandro López played his last game with the colors of the institution and the fans put together a spectacular party at the Juan Domingo Perón stadium.

El Cilindro, as the sports venue is popularly known, wore a spectacular crowd in the match against Godoy Cruz, on the 25th date of the contest. Fernando Gago, coach of the ‘Academy’, sent the experienced forward as a starter, to promote the great tribute that he enlisted.

Lisandro López took the field and was the protagonist in the time he played, until the 15th minute arrived, the same number that is stamped on his back. As previously established, the 38-year-old footballer left the field, amid an impressive ovation, which was colorful thanks to the celestial balloons that the fans carried.

The exciting moment made ‘Licha’ shed some tears, while hugging his teammates, during his journey to the substitute bench. In the same way, referee Diego Abal went to the striker, just before he was replaced, dedicated a few words to him and hugged him.

Lisandro López, after scoring 79 goals with the Racing Club shirt, says goodbye to the institution in a big way. Let us remember that the attacker leaves with the pleasant memory of having led the team to the title of the Argentine League in the 2018-19 season. Without a doubt, he left his mark on the hearts of the fans.

Racing Club qualified for Copa Sudamericana

Racing Club beat Godoy Cruz 2-1, with a double from Marcelo Javier Correa, who entered precisely for Lisandro López. The result ensured the ‘Academy’ qualification for the Copa Sudamericana next season.
