Amnesty International hangs banner at FFF headquarters to protest World Cup in Qatar

The initiative is spectacular, although its future impact is more than uncertain. Amnesty International took action on Wednesday morning in front of the headquarters of the French Football Federation (FFF), in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. Activists hung a banner with the following messages: “Thousands of dead in Qatar, and the FFF still does not whistle”, “FFFaute” and “#Ramenezlacoupealaraison”.

References to the workers who died on the construction sites of the World Cup stadiums, which the emirate must host from November 21 to December 18, 2022. Not sure that this initiative moves Noël Le Graët, hardly concerned by the subject until now.

At the end of November, the president of the FFF was questioned on the issue of opponents to the next World Cup. “It was perhaps necessary that they grumble at the time of the appointment, had retorted the Breton to AFP. It’s easier to criticize when you’re not qualified. It’s too late. The World Cup will be in Qatar, there is no reason that this country does not organize a big event. “
