The groups were defined for a new edition of the UEFA Nations League in which Spain participates. ‘La Roja’ has been framed in group 2 of the first category that also includes Portugal, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Speaking to the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Enrique referred to the duels that the team he directs will have, as well as the importance of the League of Nations.

“It is a very exciting competition, with any of the teams that would have touched us there are always going to be complications”Luis Enrique said after the draw held this Thursday in Switzerland. “Of the three that have touched us, both Portugal and Switzerland already knew them, we have recently played against them, the Czech Republic is a team that we have not had this fortune”, added the Spanish DT.

Luis Enrique maintained that “There is this encouragement and we are motivated, wanting to start the competition.” He also highlighted Portugal, indicating that they will have “the opportunity” to face “rivals who have won things.”

On the Swiss side, the former FC Barcelona coach said that they know them perfectly: “We have just played in the European Championship and they have seen what it cost and the difficulties it has.” Regarding the Czech Republic, he did not have many comments: “We do not know her, she has been promoted from League B to League A”.

It should be noted that Spain fell in the final of the last edition of this competition against France and Luis Enrique is committed to getting back into the four contenders for the title: “It is a very attractive competition and for us it would be a very strong encouragement to be in the final four again.”

To get into the fight for the title, “it would be very stimulating, in view of what is coming for everyone in November, with the fact of being able to participate in a new World Cup”, he concluded.
