Through a statement, Liverpool reported that players Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk were ruled out for the Premier League match against Newcastle, valid for date 17 of the Premier League.

The footballers have already been isolated and hope that in the next tests no more cases will be registered, taking into account that the bad news came in a context where there were already games postponed due to positive cases.

On Monday, Premier League officials announced that 42 positive test results were recorded among players and club officials, a record for a single week since testing began.

The 20 Premier League clubs agreed to step up measures in an attempt to avoid further delays, with the introduction of daily tests for all players and training ground staff.

In this sense, the Liverpool strategist is satisfied with the measures, but with doubts about the transparency of who is diagnosed. “It would be useful to understand exactly what it is like in the Premier League. I don’t understand why we are not more open ”, questioned Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool is one point behind the only leader, Manchester City, so the cases could affect sports. The knockout stages of the Champions League will be played in 2022, to the relief of the ‘Reds’ fans.
