Alianza Lima continues to analyze transfer options in this transfer market and Salomón Libman was emerging as a great alternative to strengthen the goal. The interest sounded stronger and stronger, but the agreement finally failed, a situation that generated deep regret for the experienced 37-year-old goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper, who renewed his link with UTC for 2022 at the end of November, expressed his feelings about his frustrated transfer to the last Peruvian champion, through a message on social networks. In the text, ‘Yuyo’ highlights that the topic could not be closed due to “a decision that escapes your pretensions”.

As a professional footballer I always prepare myself to give my best and defend with my soul the shirts that I have to represent. Now, I want to publicly thank the leadership of Alianza Lima for the interest shown in having my services for the entire 2022 season.

Alianza Lima is my home and it was a dream to return; And, just as in 2021 I was willing to play in the Second Division, the possibility of dressing up again as a blue and white was very exciting for me.

Obviously this issue does not have to do with economic values, but with some personal and sentimental ones. Therefore, by not having the chance to return to La Victoria, I can say that this decision is beyond my pretensions.

Ultimately, things did not go the way I wanted and expected. My inclination was more for a human aspect and to fulfill my dream of returning to the club that I really want.

In the same way, I will always give everything in my power to be a better athlete and person every day. It is time to look forward. Tomorrow will be another day, so it is my turn to get up and do my best for myself, my family (who always support me at all times) and the club that I must defend to meet group and individual goals.”.

What was Libman’s last season on Alianza Lima?

Salomón Libman began his career at Alianza Lima in 2009, playing just five games in League 1, but in 2010 he managed to win the starting position and had 36 appearances. In 2011, the goalkeeper’s continuity was reduced to only 18 appearances, but in 2012, in his last year with the ‘Blue and White’, he was again a figure, with 28 games. In addition, except for the first season, ‘Yuyo’ participated in Copa Libertadores.
