Without a doubt, one of the Peruvians abroad who obtained the best results in 2021 was Gustavo Dulanto. The national defender emigrated to Moldova to defend the colors of the Sheriff Tiraspol, won the league and qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, where he faced great and historic clubs such as Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

However, his auspicious present did not happen overnight. ‘Pochito’, as they know him, had to travel a difficult and hard road in which the final destination was not always rewarded. And it is in those moments that he received the unconditional support of his family, of his close circle, with whom he spends practically every day of his life.

Along these lines, Gustavo Dulanto had a great detail with them as a way of thanking them for their support. What did? He took them from Peru to Moldova to see him play a UEFA Champions League game against Real Madrid, as he revealed in a recent interview with ‘Depor’.

“Taking them to Moldova was a way of thanking them for being in the bad times. I wanted them to see a Champions League game. I took them to Cusco when I made my debut in the Copa Libertadores against Santos, which we won 2-0, but this time they beat us 3-0 ″he began by saying.

“However, the fact that they are on the rostrum… I was on top of that as captain. Raise my head and see my old men, sister, my aunt, niece, my wife and daughter … That is priceless. It’s the best thing that has happened to me in my life. Traveling 35 hours to see a Champions League game is priceless “he added.

Although Sheriff Tiraspol was eliminated in the ‘Orejona’, he managed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League, where he will meet with Sporting Braga de Portugal in the 16th finals.
