Gerardo Pelusso assures that some fans of Alianza Lima do not forgive him

After a bad 2005 season where many foreign footballers were hired and no place was obtained at an international tournament, in 2006 in Alliance Lima it was decided to hire Gerardo Pelusso, to look for one more star.

The title was achieved by defeating in the final Scienceno. After 15 years, in an interview with Ovation, the Uruguayan coach recalled what he experienced throughout that season: “Alliance Lima he had not been able to be champion in Matute. It was a very special date because I remember that on December 25 we decided to concentrate the footballers, which we did not like very much because it is a party for the family but taking into account that two days away it was the rematch, the footballers understood and concentrated”.

“Achieving something important in football has never been easy, it was very nice from the beginning because we had a very good preseason in Chincha. Of some players they said they were old, that they no longer gave and we were able to reach the hearts of those players who were very great to name a few as Juan Jayo, Flavio Maestri that they said that it no longer gave. Pepe Soto too, and they were players who gave us everything on and off the pitch”.

Four years after passing through Alliance Lima, Gerardo Pelusso would face the intimate in the Copa Libertadores 2010. The DT was on the bench at the University of Chile. The duel in Lima ended 1-0 in favor of the Chileans and in Santiago, Alianza Lima was tracing the series with a 2-1.

The controversial goal of Felipe Seymour’s draw made the game tense. The images of Gerardo demanding the referee to validate the goal (something that finally happened), remained in the memory of many Alianza Lima fans.

“There is never a lack of negatives, they are football things. I was defending at that time another club. We told the referee it was not offside. Then the images proved us right. There are many people from Alianza who never forgave me, but I keep what I experienced during my time at the club”.
