Atlas highlighted Anderson Santamaría’s work in preseason: “The Peruvian Wall”

Atlas de Guadalajara managed to proclaim himself champion in the 2021 Apertura of the MX League, after several decades, and the Peruvian Anderson Santamaría was one of the most important players of the team. The defender stood out throughout the campaign and is already getting ready for the restart of the Mexican tournament, in which they will seek to revalidate the title.

A couple of days ago, the players arrived at the club’s facilities to follow the corresponding health protocols, in the face of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and thus be fit for the start of the preseason. The initial activity was carried out without major inconveniences and the work started.

In these first days, the technical command led by Diego Cocca has been focusing on the physical aspect, although they do not neglect their work with the ball. Anderson Santamaría and the rest of the ‘Zorro’ footballers demand themselves to the maximum, in order to arrive in optimal conditions at the local competition.

Precisely, the national defender was one of the highlights in the practice and from Atlas they did not hesitate to share a postcard that he left on the day of this Wednesday. “The Peruvian wall”was the message that the Guadalajara institution shared with the presence of the experienced defender.

Santamaría, who suffered an injury in the final against Club León, is well and could have activity in the friendly against Tepatitlán FC (second division) next Friday, December 31. Previously, between January 2019 and May 2021, he had 44 appearances for the club in the league competition.
