Waved and sacramented. After being crowned champion with Olimpia in Honduras, Pedro Troglio will continue his career in San Lorenzo. The Argentine was announced this Wednesday as the new coach of ‘Cuervo’, since he was vacant after the resignation of Uruguayan Paolo Montero a couple of months ago.

Troglio, with a long career as a coach, comes from winning a four-time championship at the helm of Olimpia de Honduras and reaches a ‘Cyclone’ that had a very bad season in the First Division tournament, in which he finished 21st out of 26 teams.

“After meeting with President Horacio Arreceygor and manager Mauro Cetto, and thanks to the excellent predisposition of the Olimpia club, Pedro Troglio agreed to his arrival in San Lorenzo. In the next few days, the technical director will be signing his contract ”, announced the Barcelona entity in social networks.

In his time as a footballer, Troglio was part of the Argentine team runner-up in the 1990 World Cup in Italy, and after his retirement he directed, among others, Godoy Cruz, Gimnasia and Esgrima La Plata (in three cycles), Independiente, Argentinos Juniors and Tigre, while that abroad he was DT from Cerro Porteño (Paraguay), Sports University (Peru) and Olimpia (Honduras).

“Troglio is a coach with a great career and we are very happy with his arrival at San Lorenzo”, said Arreceygor, president of the ‘Cyclone’, which in turn replaced the television host Marcelo Tinelli, in use of license.

San Lorenzo had been left without a starting coach after the resignation of Montero on date 17 of the Argentine league championship and, in the eight following days, the position was occupied on an interim basis by Diego Monarriz.
