Raziel García completed his first day of training with Deportes Tolima in Colombia and was encouraged to provide exclusive statements to the ‘Pijaos’ website. In that sense, the Peruvian team midfielder expressed his happiness at meeting his new teammates

“Very happy. I was welcomed here and the people are very friendly. Very delicious food. I really want to be able to do my best for my team ”, explained the national footballer who lives his first experience abroad and also, with the ‘Vinotinto y oro’, will play the Copa Libertadores 2022 group stage.

In the same vein, Raziel mentioned the reasons why he decided to sign for Deportes Tolima. “What convinced me is the history that he has and is always fighting titles in recent years. That is very important to me”he added.

It is important to mention that the ‘Pijaos’ are the current runners-up of the BetPlay League of Colombia since they lost the final of the Finalization Tournament 2021 by a 3-1 aggregate against Deportivo Cali.

After three seasons with César Vallejo, Cienciano decided to sign — last season — Raziel García to fight for a place in an international tournament. The midfielder came to accumulate a total of 20 games in which he scored three goals and provided six assists. His great performance led him to be called up by Ricardo Gareca to the Peruvian team.

As is known, the midfielder made his debut with the ‘Blanquirroja’ in Group B of the Copa América 2021. In that contest, he entered the final minutes against Colombia (semifinals) and also participated against Venezuela and Brazil. In the duel for third place against the ‘cafeteros’, he gave a great center for Gianluca Lapadula to score with a header.

For his part, in the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers, he participated in the matches against ‘Vinotinto’ and Bolivia in Lima. In addition, he faced Argentina in Buenos Aires and the ‘Verde’ in La Paz.
