Catania: What happened to the Italian team where Juan Manuel Vargas triumphed and which today is topped for 1 million dollars?

Juan Manuel Vargas arrived in Catania, from Colón, and played two seasons. The ‘Loco’ was an indisputable figure of the team. He played 69 games and scored 5 goals in Serie A.

. The full-back, to date, is still remembered by Catania fans. No one will forget his powerful left foot strike.

“The President of Catania came to see me exclusively. I already had something closed with Catania. But he had a proposal from Portsmouth. I was more seduced by England with Portsmouth, because of the money issue. In the end we went and I didn’t know any English. Catania was also a very special team for Diego Simeone. The Italian team was his first experience coaching abroad. Years later, he arrived and triumphed at Atlético de Madrid.
