Gianluca Lapadula: Lazio and what it needs to close the transfer of the Peruvian striker

Gianluca Lapadula’s return to Serie A has been cooking for a few days. The striker for the Peruvian national team, who has already informed Benevento of his desire to leave, has been contacted by Lazio. The club from the capital needs an alternative to Ciro Immobile with a view to the second part of the current season.

This Monday, the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, which reported last week on the rapprochement between the ‘Bambino de los Andes’ and the Romans, provided more details regarding the transfer that may occur during the winter market in Europe.

From the outset, the cited source stressed that Lazio must find a new destination for Vedat Muriqi. The Kosovo attacker is Immobile’s second. However, coach Maurizio Sarri does not take him into account. What’s more, when the starting ‘9’ was absent, the Italian coach preferred to use other options and left Muriqi aside.

Regarding the Kosovar’s situation, key for Lapadula to join the ‘I Biancocelesti’ squad, the Italian newspaper revealed that CSKA Moscow, Hull City, Leeds United, West Brom, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are interested in Muriqi. Of those mentioned, the Russian club is willing to accept a transfer with a purchase obligation for 10 million euros.

Thus, the sale of the Kosovar international will improve Lazio’s liquidity. In this sense, the cast led by Sarri can go all out for the man from Blanquirroja. The agreement would be a loan until the end of the course and without the obligation to purchase.

Lapadula would be happy to be available, also because he would recover – even as a supporting actor – the Serie A stage, says La Gazzetta dello Sport. Y añade: “It is also important for him in view of the adventure he is living with the Peruvian team, which is looking to qualify for the next World Cup”.

‘Lapagol’ would add a new experience in the highest division of Italy. The scorer went through the ranks of the mighty Milan. He was also in Genoa, Lecce and Benevento, a club with which he lost the category in the last tournament. The striker stayed with the sorcerers to play in Serie B and before announcing that he was leaving, he had scored a total of 10 goals.
